From: dacrud on 27 May 2005 16:13 Thanks for the replys. I went through the guide and found that all my configuration was the same pretty much except I must have BootFile in PXEClient:Arch:00000:UNDI:002001 otherwise it will fail with PXE-E53: no boot filename received. Now I am having another problem. It boots and lets me select type of installation. I select interactive, it configures devices then "using DHCP for network config information", then it after about 5-10 mins it says "NFS server 192.168.1.200 not responding still trying" I've looked through all the configs, I tryed stopping/restarting all the services, I tryed checking to make sure DHCP is working properly with another machine and it is, and I can also mount the /export/home/installserver from other machines. It still fails on this. when it is to that point that it fails, i ran run showmount -a localhost and it shows 192.168.1.214:/export/home/installserver/Solaris_10/Tools/Boot that it has it mounted but it doesnt respond. Please help again. Thanks. my DHCP config: Macro: PXEClient:Arch:00000:UNDI:002001 Option: BootSrvA 192.168.1.200 Option: BootFile: nbp.SUNW.i86pc Macro: SUNW.i86pc Option: BootFile nbp.SUNW.i86pc Option: SinstPTH /export/home/installserver Option: SrootNM 192.168.1.200 Option: SrootIP4 192.168.1.200 Option: SrootPTH /export/home/installserver/Solaris_10/Tools/Boot Option: SinstNM 192.168.1.200

From: dacrud on 27 May 2005 17:25 i dont have a shell at that point, the GUI has not started, its still at the grey screen. i can ping the client at one point in time from another machine on the Add -v to the boot line (like boot net -v) and see if you get any information just before the hang. It may be getting incorrect information about routing which causes it to do something strange with packets and such. Try 'boot net -m verbose' and see what you get. -- Darren Dunham ddunham(a)taos.com Senior Technical Consultant TAOS http://www.taos.com/ Got some Dr Pepper?
