From: Jim on 11 Jun 2010 02:14 The standard [Cut][Copy][Paste] controls need one more - [Delete]. Works like [Cut] but doesn't overwrite the contents of the clipboard. When replying to a long usenet post and you only want to quote a small part of it, and you want to paste in a quotation from the web, you currently have to go to the web, copy the url (or text) onto the clipboard, go back into Newstap, hit the Followup button, then laboriously delete all the bits you don't want by holding down the delete key. If you just select large parts and hit cut, you overwrite your clipboard and have to go back to square one. To be fair this is also partly a weakness of Newstap. I want to highlight the bit to be qouted and hit reply, not have to hit reply and then manually trim everything. Cheers, Ian

Fair point, but it might be better supported at the OS level if it could conceivable be used in more than one app. Jim -- "Microsoft admitted its Vista operating system was a 'less good product' in what IT experts have described as the most ambitious understatement since the captain of the Titanic reported some slightly damp tablecloths." http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/

[checks] Ah. Er. *cough* Nothing to see here, move along. (yes, it does. How stupid do _I_ feel now?) Jim -- Twitter:@GreyAreaUK "If you have enough book space, I don't want to talk to you."
