And you didn't change anything since you ran alsa-info?
I'm asking because there are controls that are not at 100%:

Simple mixer control 'Master',0
Mono: Playback 52 [81%] [-12.00dB] [on]
Simple mixer control 'Headphone',0
Front Left: Playback 52 [81%] [-12.00dB] [on]
Front Right: Playback 52 [81%] [-12.00dB] [on]
Simple mixer control 'Speaker',0
Front Left: Playback 0 [0%] [-64.00dB] [on]
Front Right: Playback 0 [0%] [-64.00dB] [on]
Simple mixer control 'PCM',0
Front Left: Playback 255 [100%] [0.00dB]
Front Right: Playback 255 [100%] [0.00dB]

Which mixer are you using? Do all these controls appear there?
If not, try alsamixer.

I had originally set them in alsamixer but had raised them in kmix. After
your comment, I reopened alsamixer and raised the levels in there to 100%.
As you noted, somehow the speaker had gone down to 0. But still no sound.
Thanks.

I reran the info, just so no confusion.

Your kernel version should work (and it should detect the imac91 model
automatically).

Try compiling the latest alsa-driver package.

Thanks Clemens, I appreciate your advice. I downloaded the daily snapshot
from the alsa site and was able to get sound working on the internal
card. I configured for hda-intel. Curiously alsaconf now finds no cards
to probe. I will have to reconfigure now to get my Bose speakers back as
an option as well. Any suggestions on hot to get alsaconf back
functioning?

Out of curiosity I had tried another distro (Ubuntu) and did not have
sound using it either.

Scott

Don't give any options to the configure script.
