It was indoors when I visited the museum in 1991.

But was it in the Experimental Aircraft hangar in 1991? My dim memory says
it was not. At the time, I remember it being in one of the actual Museum
hangars (all the way at the back, near the X-15).

Here is a picture of it, reportedly in 1988, which shows it sitting outside
of the Museum hangars:

Here are some pictures of it in the Modern Flight Gallery (on the museum
property):

On this page is a picture of it in its current location in the Experimental
Aircraft hangar (which is on the base property):

To get it to its current location, it had to be moved off the USAF Museum
property and onto the base property. I believe that's when it had to be
towed out on the street. My guess is that's what happened in 2004; the
XB-70 was moved to its current location in the Experimental Aircraft hangar.

Do they have the vertical fins back on it?
It looks strange without them.

That I don't know. I haven't been there in quite some time. I do, however,
have myself and my two oldest kids scheduled this spring to take the "behind
the scenes" tour that the kids are off of school. That should be
interesting...

They weren't doing their jobs back then either if you weren't banned.
You are one of the worse I have come across. You have no redeeming
qualities nor do you bring anything of substance to a discussion.
