Brad was on Venus.
They don't have internet there nor do they recieve any journals or
newspapers and reception for radio and television is poor.
I doubt seriously that Brad has ever heard of Aston, Bethe, Gamow, Teller,
or Hoyle and probably never heard of the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram.
