Is it still like that?
I recall that trying to d/l it was an unpleasant way to spend 20 minutes.
And it had a truly shithouse UI.

I just downloaded and installed it the day before yesterday. It works,
and the interface is only difficult because the program provides a lot
of options for file conversion outputs. If you pause the mouse cursor
over almost any option, there is a very nice explanation popup that appears.

It's not a "one click" type of program though and finding the download
link takes a little patience. However, it's not really *that* hard to
find IME.

No ad, CD, commercial, cripple, demo, nag, share, spy, time-limited,

As with anything it depends on personal likes and dislikes, I like the
interface because everything is there in front of you rather than a row
of tabs. A plus is that it can use either ffmpeg or mencoder according to
users preference and it supports avisynth scripts (although somewhat
restricted).

For anyone looking for a 1-click conversion application then consider
WinFF http://winff.org/ which uses ffmpeg or maybe
Dirk Paehl's DP Videoconvert http://www.paehl.de/dp_video/ which uses
mencoder.

Downloading is a lot easier than it used to be since a few mirrors were
introduced, there are still a couple of pages to trawl through but the
endless loop seems to have gone away.

The reason I downloaded and installed Super is that I wanted to convert
an .mkv file to .divx. Super will do that, but on my system it takes so
long that it's not worth it.

Super(c) or any of the other free conversion utilities use either ffmpeg
or mencoder so really it does not matter what you use. You might be
better off with either of them and a command line although I tend to
think that mencoder might be a little faster than ffmpeg, tends to be
subjective though.

Going back 10 or 12 years or so, converting captured (lossless) avi to
mpeg for making VideoCD it was usual to run the computer overnight, so
slow computers are nothing new, you just have to work with them.
