From: Lemuel Coalridge on 12 Feb 2010 19:49 Is there any way of doing this in some general fashion? It would be nice to set a system-wide default; or user-wide, actually. Failing that, to make various apps realize that I don't want it, and I won't want it tomorrow, or ever. Is this just an undreamed-of feature on which I should write to the maker of every app? Or is there something that can be done about it? (Consider running a specialized editor, like the one in TeXShop, and having to enter every single command in LaTeX as a special-case, really-it's-ok entry so the text isn't a heap of red worms. Ick. Or else, turn off the feature every single time you open anything in the editor. Idiocy.) -- The Man from Porlock

You can turn it off in many apps and once that is done it is done forever for those apps. There may be other apps that do not have this feature. Have you got a list of them? -- dorayme
