I am an administrator of a 2003 server that has up to 10 users logging on to
TS for shared applications. Recently we moved from a globally shared desktop
folder to an individual desktop. I did this by changing Desktop Folder
Redirection for TS Users from \\TSServer\TSEnv$\TS Office\Desktop to
\\TSServer\TSProfile$\%USERNAME%\Desktop

Now another problem has come up. One of the users added some documents to
his TS desktop, which is fine. Now he is unable to delete or move the files
permanently. He can delete/move the files with no errors. The file is removed
from the desktop but NOT put in the recycle bin. After logging off and
logging back on to the TS client they come back. If they were deleted they
come back. If moved the file is deleted from the place it was moved to and
put back on the desktop.

I did some testing by watching the TS Clients Desktop folder. I see the
files being deleted/moved. As soon as the client logs off they pop back in to
the desktop folder.

How do I give TS users control over their individual desktops?

From: Silvia Doomra [MSFT] on
This usually happens if the user is simultaneously logged into two places
that use same roaming profile (another TS session or even desktop..) because
last write wins. Is the user's profile is shared across any other logons (so
if user deletes files, logs off TS but has the files in his other session
and logs off there later, that will overwrite the profile changes made in
the TS session)?

Thanks
Silvia
