'recommendation'. more the suggestion to shop for prices.

I mentioned ecost because another fellow (another ng) praised their
prices. they are pretty good but still this tuner card can be found for
less.

Just for the record, if PCI is out and you don't like
the PCIe solutions out there, I have the Hauppauge USB HVR-1950
and it works great under openSUSE 11.1. I also have the
older PVR USB2 and it works as well (latter doesn't have
ATSC HD support).

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, none of my usual online
suppliers seem to carry the 1950 anymore. They only have the
850 and 950 models. Too bad, because the 1950 looks like the
internal 1800 card wrapped up in a box.

??? Really? I'm surprised. It's available from 100's of online
suppliers... most of which are "big names".
