From: Fred on 2 Jan 2007 10:13 Hi, I am running Outlook 2003 sp2 and my counterpart is running Outlook 2000 sr1. When i assign a task to him he accepts the task and i get an email confirming this. When i go to the task folder to see the status of the task it tells me "Waiting for response from recipient". He then sends me a task complete message which i receive but it does not update the task in task folder. It still says "Waiting for response from recipient". I have to manually update the task to complete status in task folder. Thanks in advance for any help on this. Fred
From: Judy Gleeson (MVP Outlook) on 3 Jan 2007 04:58 you missed a lot of steps in that description - do you open the emails Task Acceptance and Task Update? Not read but OPEN? Outlook sucks the data out when you open these emails. From: Fred on 11 Jan 2007 07:34 Thanks Judy, When I get an update, I cannot open it. I can only view in the reading pane. Double clicking on it or right click open does not work. I think this also the case when I receive a task accepted email. I have to verify this. Yet, I can open a task that has a status completed. Fred I have "Send me a status report when task is complete" checked in the original task request message I send.
