There are a ton of them. Yes, they can be deleted. I would leave any that are dated within your current session, in case they are being used by any currently running programs.

Delete the oldest chunks first Then you will need to nibble away around the locked ones. :)

Its free, and I use it often, especially just before doing a virus/malware scan, to speed up things, and stop false virus alerts(often found in cache diretories).
