From: Matt on 14 Mar 2010 19:04 We support a site running the following; SBS Server 2003 - SP2 (Domain Controller) Server 2008 STD - SP2 (Terminal Server & TS Licensing Server) We have applied the appropriate TS CAL's but they are not being issued. Licensing Diagnosis indicates no issues and shows the licenses are installed correctly, the grace period expires in only a couple of days and I know after this period we are going to run into problems. In the event logs I can see "Terminal Server was unable to retrieve users Licensing information from AD. Error 2147943726!d!" The client is also experiencing morning when users are unable to logon, unfortunately its really early so the the client just shuts down the TS Server via the power button even though we have told them not to. Any ideas as to what is going on?
From: Silvia Doomra [MSFT] on 15 Mar 2010 00:41 Can you try unjoining and joining the machine (on which you have installed TS and the license server) to the domain again? I guess there is an issue in the joining of the domain.. Also, just few additional questions to clarify the setup.. What is the licensing mode set on the TS? - It should be Per User only. And your license server should be a part of 'Terminal Server License Servers' group on the Domain Controller. Hope that helps! From: Matt on 17 Mar 2010 19:03 Thanks for your reply. Licensing mode is Per User and the Licensing Server is a member of the Terminal Server License Servers group on the DC. Since installing the Licenses I am not getting the notification about the grace period ending when I log in via the console, however it still doesn't show that any Licenses are being issued to users under the Licensing Manager. Perhaps its a bug or something? From: Silvia Doomra [MSFT] on 18 Mar 2010 00:41 For Per User, can't see the issued license directly. You need to generate report for that. Right Click on the server name under 'All Servers' node. There will be an option of 'Report'. Click on 'Generate Report' and proceed as the Wizard guides you. Save the report generated and open that report as notepad. That will give you all the details of the licenses issued.
