So, take away the screen shield, click the stop, then snip off the last
few seconds of the video.

(I still think this whole thread shows an opportunity for an improvement.)

And option to skip the count down. The OP's problem with the screen
brightness, not the flash specifically. There's no way to automatically
dim the screen for a photo.
