Okay, well, that's just weird.

Couldn't you say the same for the iPhone's folders versus a single
screen of apps? They both show apps, only one shows 16 and the other 12,
and one looks smaller until you open it up.

Mmmm. It would have its advantages and disadvantages. I'd rather it was
like iTunes or similar: a database-style thing where I could use several
different organisational systems to find an object. Be nice to find
something under "used in the last two hours" or "as big as my hand and
blue" without having to do all the manual filing needed with a
Finder-like filing system. But I could organise stuff into groups if I
wanted (without messing up the organisation that was already in place,
automatically).

Or just a Google for real life.
