Prev: why windows updates sometimes don't ask me if i want to installthem?
Next: Passing the current folder as an argument
From: Gualtier Malde on 15 Jul 2010 13:28 I am using Windows XP SP3 in an Acer Netbook. Recently I noticed episodes of near-total shutdown of Windows a fairly long delay, and then recovery with all the operations I had keyed in being done (windows opening, closed programs closing, etc). I went to Task Manager and found System Idle Process appearing to use 93-98% of CPU, but the Performance tab showed fairly low CPU usage. I don't know how to find the "guilty program". I am hopeful that there is some app out there that will reveal it to me, but I am awful trying to find this myself. I'll appreciate some pointers.

It's true that SIP was saying "95%" and Performance was at 7%. OK - I'll have to look elsewhere for what is stopping everything short. I kinda suspect some AVG thing, though I've shut off all the time-o-phages. Thanks for the reply. gm |
