Other than creating schedule/tasks In MS Project, is there another way of
creating something else that can serve as a means for tracking work/tasks…

Thanks

You mean like an Excel spreadsheet? A resource plan in Project Server?
Not sure I follow...

There are about 50 well known applications, proprietary and open-source.
The odd thing is, they all try to look like MS Project while claiming to be
better and/or easier. They are not.
If you want to do it without software you could use a big pinup board with
coloured paper tape and elastic ribbons, but you will have to do the
calculations.

Hi Sundos,
You may look at SharePoint, it also have basic features of tracking tasks
such as; %comp. due dates, assigned to, status, gantt chart view and so on.
You may also, share task info. with others through the intranet and apply
permissions and document control over it.

Hope this helps
