From: Hoosier32 on 18 Feb 2005 09:52 Says both of these files are not valid windows image. C:\windows\system32\umpnpmgr.dll C:\windows\system32\ntdsapi.dll I get the first error and click ok, then I get the second error and hit ok. This happens right before the black background with the Windows pro and the blue dots scrolling accross. It doesnt boot up after I cick the ok. Just sits there with a black screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced!
From: Karl on 18 Feb 2005 10:22 You could try running System File Checker by going to Run and typing sfc /scannow. or, Download umpnpmgr.dll from here http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files.php/dllfiles/U/umpnpmgr.dll/download.html (look above flashing graphic banner) and ntdsapi.dll from here http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files.php/dllfiles/N/ntdsapi.dll/download.html Perhaps someone here could advise you the best way to copy them to the system32 folder "Hoosier32" <kenneth.adkins(a)us.army.mil> wrote in message news:1108738378.371400.146040(a)c13g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... > Says both of these files are not valid windows image. > > C:\windows\system32\umpnpmgr.dll > C:\windows\system32\ntdsapi.dll > > I get the first error and click ok, then I get the second error and hit > ok. From: Jos Gallardo on 18 Feb 2005 10:27 Try this: put your XP CD on the drive. Type everything without the quotes. I'll suppose your CD drive is D: if not, change the letter: Start>Run and type in "cmd" <hit Enter> In the new screen type and hit enter at the end of each line: "cd i386" "expand umpnpmgr.dl_ c:\windows\system32\umpnpmgr.dll" "expand ntdsapi.dl_ c:\windows\system32\ntdsapi.dll" "Hoosier32" <kenneth.adkins(a)us.army.mil> escribió en el mensaje news:1108738378.371400.146040(a)c13g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... > Says both of these files are not valid windows image. > > C:\windows\system32\umpnpmgr.dll > C:\windows\system32\ntdsapi.dll > > I get the first error and click ok, then I get the second error and hit > ok. Jose, thanks for the help, but again, I cannot get into windows to do this. I need a fix to do from DOS. I can easily reformat, but I will lose a lot of stuff. If I just do a new install of windows without deleting the previous version, wont I have to reinstall everything? |
