I won't be upgrading Unlocker. Which alternative app works in a similar
way?

I ran across one called LockHunter late last year when I was purchasing
another proggie from the developer. Haven't tried LockHunter, but the
utility I bought is a nicely written software - that might or might not
be a good sign. LH supports 32 and 64 bit Windows. It's still in beta,
so that's a consideration. By the way, Unlocker is a 255 KB download
while LockHunter is ~1.2 MB.

That's what I used.
And since it didn't do anything, tried the 32 Bit version, same thing,
absolutely nothing.

Doesn't do that on my setup.

Franklin, I did the update and it works fine. Yeah, I agree that the
bundleware concept sucks, but until and if it becomes non-optional, I
can live with it. YMMV.

It's the adware I don't like.
