From: Brian Smith on 13 Jan 2010 13:50 Host: Windows 7 64 bit Guest: Windows XP SP3 I can run my VPCs ok, (originally created with VPC 2007), but I cannot see any USB devices. The Help says there should be a USB option on the VPC toolbar, but there isn't - I've just got Action, Tools & Ctrl+Alt_Del. I have Upgraded the Integration Components, and rebooted the XP system. Is there something else I need to do? brian
From: Robert Comer on 13 Jan 2010 15:03 USB only works with the integration components active. Try doing a shutdown of the VM then a restart. Make sure the integration components are enabled in the settings. -- Bob Comer On Wed, 13 Jan 2010 18:50:40 +0000, Brian Smith <bsmith(a)NO.SPAM.schemiotics.co.uk> wrote: > >Host: Windows 7 64 bit >Guest: Windows XP SP3 > >I can run my VPCs ok, (originally created with VPC 2007), but I cannot >see any USB devices. From: Brian Smith on 14 Jan 2010 06:24 Yes, I've done that to no avail. The Integration Features option in the Settings dialog says Auto Enable, and Enable at Startup is checked. But the dialog only includes options for Audio, Clipboard, Printer, Smart Cards & then a list of all Drives. No sign of USB there. Perhaps I need to create a new VM from scratch - pita! brian Robert Comer wrote: > USB only works with the integration components active. > > Try doing a shutdown of the VM then a restart. From: Robert Comer on 14 Jan 2010 06:59 USB only shows when the VM is running and it's on a menu of the running VM. -- Bob Comer On Thu, 14 Jan 2010 11:24:01 +0000, Brian Smith <bsmith(a)NO.SPAM.schemiotics.co.uk> wrote: >Yes, I've done that to no avail. From: Brian Smith on 14 Jan 2010 07:13 But its not on any menu - I only have Action, Tools and Ctrl+Alt_Del Just been creating a new Win7 VM, and it looks just the same. Perhaps I need to investigate VMWare, as I need to develop an app that talks to USB... brian Robert Comer wrote: > USB only shows when the VM is running and it's on a menu of the > running VM. >
