You haven't got a plug in USB card by any chance. The keyboard needs
to be plugged into a USB port on the motherboard.

I had a computer where the on board USB ports failed and the keyboard
was not recognised when plugged into the addon card that I installed

I noticed that this works on initial boot but not on reboot.
