Simply disable the VMWare virtual network devices and use bridged networking
for the VMWare VMs...

Did you know you can install Ubuntu 8.10 into Windows like any other
application? Burn the ISO to CD and then right click on the CD drive and
select autoplay and select the appropriate option, I think it is the second
one. After the install reboot the machine and you can then boot into
Windows or Ubuntu. You do not need to format and partition the drive. You do
have to specify a drive size and this is fixed, so if you tell it to crate a
20Gig drive you loose 20Gig from Windows.

If you want to remove Ubuntu just run the uninstall program in the Ubuntu
folder.

I did this and I had no problems at all, it also runs allot better when not
in a VM.
