From: Alex on 13 Apr 2010 16:04 We have PDC (#1) and two (#2 and #3) terminal servers. One user had her account deleted and recreated. She was usually logging into the terminal server #3. Now of course because her acc. was recreated she is able to log in fine in #2 terminal server but gets errors on #3. Basically, upon logging into #3 she gets a temporary Roaming profile that resides in C:\Documents and Settings\TEMP instead of <user name> folder. When she logs off, that TEMP folder disappears along with her temporary roaming profile from the list of profiles. In the list of profiles all options are dimmed and you can't do much. Question: How can I fix it and remove her old SID from that server to let her log in and create a "normal" profile? Please help! Objects in AD are identified by a unique ID, so the ID will be different even with the same name. What you need to do now is to transfer the user data over to the new accounts. Use NTBackup to copy the profile somewhere (so as to keep the original intact). Then take ownership and copy out the documents, favorites, desktop, application data etc that you want. Getting the settings is more difficult as some of these were stored in the user's registry or encrypted.
