One can resolve all of the local issues and still have a slow connection. One test is to open a different page and see if it renders quicker. If so, then the server(s) of the page being complained about is(are) slow. Another test is to try at another time of day to see if neighbors are making demands on the system that affect local performance.

Unfortunately a slow internet connection is hard to overcome. FWIW I've just dumped my old ISP for a new one and have got a 50% to 75% speed improvement. I've gone from an ISP blocking web sites as the traffic load goes up and the speed going down, often to as low as 56Kbs, to an ISP that doesn't block anything and unlimited traffic. My average speed is now about 6.5Mbs. Quite an improvement from 4Mbs or less. > One test is to open a different page and see if it renders quicker. In general I agree, but one would expect pages rendered from cache to be much faster. Assuming that the cache has not been cleared from last time. But even that doesn't explain the long delay from switch on. -- Best Regards: Baron.

Try http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/default.aspx Autoruns Copyright © 1996-2005 Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell Sysinternals - www.sysinternals.com Tells you what is going on at boot-up time. You will be amazed at what you find. G A R B A G E. If ZA found anything you would have remembered it. Their unlock process sucks! I have been using System Suite for several years, and am satisfied. When I get a new computer I go through the registry, and remove all Norton / Macafee/ Symantec references. and install SS before I get on the web.
