Second the above. I converted to Bean seeking a more capable step up
from TextEdit, not a simplifying step down from Pages, and I've never
used AppleWorks in any way. But, that said, I've come to like Bean.

What happens is that I go looking for something specific I know has to
be hiding in a location I can figure out and discover it's in an old
version AW has to convert to open. My filing "system" will fail if my
memory ever does, but so far my approaching-vast collection of nested
folders under sometimes strange headings continues to work for me.

I know. It also makes total garbage of any pre-existing documents
formatted as anything.

That will probably happen to me sooner or later, but I went through
every CW version along the way, so when I eventually get around to
running through all the stuff on old media to see what I really want to
save I can use a later CW. The computer that can access the old media
still has the last CW.

After all the help I've been offered here, that's only fair 8-)
