Hi,

As for the "WSS_AdminService.log" file, it is a log file used by the WSS
admin service internally and not opened to public users. Therefore, there
is no configuration point like the ULS log in the 12 hive of sharepoint
server.

So far based on my research, there exists such as disk space consuming
issue when you haven't applied SP1 of WSS 3.0. And the file will keep
growing under the temp folder of "default user". And if you're sufering
this issue, you can add a deny for the system account to the
wss_adminservice.log file. This
will help prevent the log file from growing.

This issue appears to have been resolved in SP1. Once SP1 can be applied to
the production environment, we can test this fix by removing the deny
permissions to the file and ensuring that it does not continue to
grow.Sincerely,

Steven Cheng

For the adminservice log, you do not need to manually view it in most
cases(it's internally used). If you're not suffering the disk space
exhausted issue, you can just keep it in the original location. Otherwise,
you can use the methoed I mentioned eariler to preven the log from being
writen.

can you confirm the service pack will fix it? Our environment is MOSS 2007
SP2. I still suffer from this issue.

regards,

Vinc
