I'm not aware of an ODBC solution that provides access to SharePoint list directly but you can purchase a SharePoint module from Bamboo solutions that will construct and expose a MS SQL query that can be used with ODBC to SQL to pull that data.

I have a number of lists that contain data that would be useful to access
through an odbc method. Is there a way to present the data in this form? It
doesn't have to be the fastest access ever...

Alternatively, is it possible to create a view in SQL Server 2005 that
displays the elements of a list?
