From: The Translucent Amoebae on 1 Jun 2010 15:55 i thought that it was impossible to delete a post from The UserNet ( News Groups ) But i am absolutely certain that i posted an inquiry about Gary McKinnon a week or so ago, And now i can't find any trace of it...!!! hmmmm....??? Anyways; What i was curious about was; How would someone ( in the most general terms ) hack into a Government Website that is Ostensibly Supposed to be Secure from UnAuthorized Personal...? It seems to me that it would be very simple...? Obviously; If some account were blasted with dozens of Wrong Passwords, you'd simply close that account for a period of time, and leave a message for anyone that has authorization to use protocol B ( whatever that may be... ) Or if a site was supposed to be very secure, The user trying to gain access to it, would identify themselves, enter their password, Then the computer would call them on their cell phone, and say something like; If you attempting to access xyz, then press [1] now. Or many other clever tricks. i can understand that, even though a site is supposed to be very secure, you'd still want people with access to it to get in as painlessly as possible... But i really don't understand the basic approach at all. Are there any good ( Attentive 5th Grader Reading Level ) books that describe this art? Thanx!
