I don't know if this is only a recent thing, but lately when I click
on a link in an e-mail, if Firefox is open but minimized, it does not
maximize.

I've clicked again, then clicked on Firefox, and found each time I
clicked on the link, a tab opened at that location.

Is there a setting somewhere that keeps Firefox minimized when I do
this/

Some time ago I discovered I have some kind of gremlin affecting images
in Firefox, but when I allowed it to update, the gremlin followed and I
lost a feature I have found very useful, so I trashed the update and
went back to 2.0 and made Safari, which said gremlin doesn't affect,
become my default browser for other purposes, since it won't let me use
it the way I can the older Firefox. Not all updates are better.

Likely a bug in Firefox. On some occasions (I have not found any
consistent pattern) when Firefox is open but its window is minimized to
the dock, clicking on the Firefox (application) icon on the left-hand
side of the dock does not bring up the window. But clicking on the
window's icon on the right-hand side of the dock does. (My dock is at
the bottom of the screen.) Annoying.
