The bottom port is likely a voice plug (the V being a hint). You would simply need to plug an ethernet cable in it and see if you can DHCP some IP address from them. Ethernet uses RJ45. Home phones use RJ11 (narrower). But business phones often use RJ45 as well, and newer IP phones also use RJ45 (since they are really ethernet connections).
