From: Access Developer on 14 May 2010 20:48 Maple is just another clueless recruiter who thinks he/she has made a great leap in understanding by thinking that he/she can get by with posting employment solicitations in technical newsgroups. See my reply to one of the messages, which reply was sent also via e-mail to the response address. If everyone in this newsgroup would send a personal e-mail, explaining that such solicitations are in violation of the USENET rules and the newsgroups charter, they might tire of opening a flood of e-mails only to find no viable candidates for their jobs. Over the years, I've tried to politely inform them of the rules and charter (http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm) before complaining to their ISP or to "abuse" at their e-mail address (sometimes abuse mail to those e-mails go to their ISP or web presence provider rather than to the company). If they do go to the company, at least one of the adminstrators will be aware that their employed is ticking off. From: The Frog on 17 May 2010 02:58 Thanks for the feedback on this. It looks like I am stuck then. I am unable to use a newsreader a work due to software policy and the proxy denying it. I use google groups to read the postings, and there is nowhere to report a gmail address as a spammer except 'report thread as spam' option - which I do. I imagine that no-one else is doing the same so the threads remain and the (ab)user continues. Could I ask a favour of a few of you - if you find yourselves with a few minutes to spare have a look through google groups (comp.databases.ms-access) and click a few of these idiotic threads to mark them as spam. Perhaps it will have an effect. Direct emailing seems to be ignored. I dont know if this will work, but it cant hurt to try. Cheers The Frog
