Hello,

I have a HP49G+ which works perfectly. From what I know
the differences with HP50 are the number of batteries, the
serial output etc... What else? Is the ARM processor are the
same on HP49G+ and on HP50? An hpgcc program will work on both
models?

I would like to try a HP50 before buying it. Anyone know
a shop in Paris, France, who deals HP50?
Maubert Electronique is now a Bank (so sad...).

Differences-
HP.com will enumerate all details.

Emulate HP 50 operation on your PC-
www.hpcalc.org

ROM Upgrades for 49g+ (to HP 50 levels) from both sites.
Hardware orders taken from both sites!

Caution:
e-Bay sellers may offer the hardware at above-market prices.

They are pretty much the same except:
- the HP50G can operate using only USB power (no batteries needed)
- the HP50G has a serial port (though not exactly what most consider
serial)
- the HP50G uses 4 AAA batteries (vs 3)
- the color is different
- build quality of the HP50G is MUCH better than the HP49G+

HPGCC programs will work on both (assuming both calculators are using
the same ROM). Both use the same ARM processor (same clock speed).

The cheapest I found was through Amazon.com for about $115 -- however,
these prices probably mean that you will NOT get any documentation
except for a thin quick start guide (like I did)! I am not sure how
shipping to France would work, though.

Hlas non: la HP50 n'est disponible que sur leur site internet (et pas
dans les magasins...).

France gives to HP good guys (JYA, CDB and so on...). Bad news: no HP50
in a French shop... TI wins the battle in France. In the 90's HP was the
muust have calculator. Now nobody in France know HP calculators (except
"old" guys like me...).
