something is very, very wrong with your system. how much memory do you
have?

on a 2.5 gz mbp with 4 gig memory, vmware fusion 3, win 7 ultimate that
isn't stripped, it took 1 minute to boot to when the desktop appeared
and the welcome sound played.

I run Quicken 2009 under Crossover Office. It works perfectly,
including updating accounts online. No need for
Parallels/Fusion/Windows. Crossover knows automatically gow to
configure for Quicken 2009. I set up a Win2000 Bottle and installed
IE6 in it (maybe the program did that for me - can't remember) for
online updates. Works great - certainly better than the piece of
garbage Intuit sells for the Mac!

I noticed that Internet Explorer opened considerably faster than Safari
did.

that's why. i once made the mistake of launching vmware/winxp on an
imac with 1 gig of memory. after 5 minutes of it not doing much of
anything other than thrash, i killed it.

upgrading to 4 gig will help a *lot*, and not just for vmware.
