Those goddamned liberals fight tooth and nail when ever conservatives try and introduce real, cutting-edge science into the classroom. Everybody knows, except the goddamned liberals, that the universe and all life was willed into existence with a wave of God's hand 6000 years ago. It says so in the Bible, and we know that a book written by bronze age goat herders can't be mistaken about matters of science. Yet, those Goddamned liberals keep teaching kids that the universe is billions of years old, that life sprang into existence out of nothingness and their Godless, fascist-communist, social engineering Theory of Evolution when ever they get their filthy hands our poor children's innocent minds.. We all know that the only place that can lead... To gas-chambers. The goddamned liberals even went to court when Dover, Pennsylvania tried to get back to a sensible basic science curriculum by teaching conservative approved Intelligent Design Theory to the students instead of that evolution muck. By fighting the real science standards that conservatives tried to implement in order to save our children, those goddamned liberals cost the Dover school district over a million dollars. What a waste! And, what's even more outrageous... They won!! Until we get the Goddamned liberals out of the science classroom and get God back in, we'll keep falling behind. Right? Heh heh... Rightards... Batshit crazy and dogshit stupid, every single last one of you. ..

Today the balance has shifted to service industries. The result is that fewer people have contact with engineers and scientists. A Science divide is forming between those who believe in science and those who don't. It's not helped by the internet. If you run searches on some scientific topics you get more hits from the junk science sites sites than serious ones. Peer reviewed scientific papers are hidden away on subscription sites where as the cranks publish openly. It would be interesting to know who the general public trusts most these days? Scientists or politicians? If science has a bad image with Koe public is it any wonder politicians have no incentive to fund it? Are there any votes in science?
