From: Nock on 23 Feb 2010 10:45 Hi, For some reason my project start and finish dates keep reverting to '1984' based dates...e.g '1/2/1984' Anyone know why this is happening? I've seen this behaviour in previous versions of the product (like MSP 98) but thought this would have been resolved in 2007. To recreate this error. 1. Create a new task in MSP and do not specify a start and finish date 2. Attach a precedessor to the task 3. Click save 4. Delete the predecessor and voila! Dates revert to xx/xx/1984. I've notice that this behaviour appears for some users and not others, which is a real pain. I've worked through the differences in the MSP options but nothing seems to stick out. All users are using MSP 2007 version 12.0.6423.100) SP2 MSO (12.0.6425.1000) Any help here is most appreciated! Regards Nock
From: Jan De Messemaeker on 23 Feb 2010 12:33 Hi, Project's calendar starts on 1/1/84, a Sunday, so its first working time is Jan 2, 1984. This being said, I cannot reproduce this. What is the current date in Project, Project information? What is the Project Start date? From: Roland67 on 23 Feb 2010 12:35 First thing that comes to mind... The User hasn't updated the Project-->Project Information tab with the desired start date. As such, every time the predecessor is deleted Project doesn't know what date to use so it defaults to Project's default date.
