From: Prum on 28 Apr 2010 23:08 I have changed the domain name for the server and restarted it as required. When shutting down, there was an error message but didn't take note of it and just clicked ok and shut down the machine. When restarting it came to Windows screen and then restarted and continuously did that. And I use a 650V UPS on it. Would it be a power problem, hardware failure or a operating system failure. Please help me solve this problem. Prum
From: SteveB on 29 Apr 2010 00:18 You can't change the internal domain name on an SBS. Is that what you did? From: Larry Struckmeyer[SBS-MVP] on 29 Apr 2010 07:49 No backups? Your best and quickest solution it to restore from backup. Guess I don't need to tell you, but for the possible benefit of others.... please, please have a known good backup *before* makeing any changes to your server(s). In your case, there should be a setting in the computers BIOS/setup screens - F1/ F10/del key on cold start - that allows you to select the boot device. There may also be a F key, such as F12, announced on the screen from a cold boot that will allow you to select a bootable device. - Larry Please post the resolution to your issue so others may benefit - Get Your SBS Health Check at www.sbsbpa.com > Since, I have changed the internal domain name, windows sbs 2003 is > not able to boot up.
