error code 80248009 I have a 32-based system and get this error when looking for updates. I followed all the instructions posted in thread dated 1/22/10 regarding this error (running multiple scans), except for the readiness tool as it won't work on my system. Problem with uploading fom Microsoft Works Word Processor to stick After 9 automatic updates were received on April 15th 2010 I haven't been able to upload work from Microsoft Works Word processor to memory stick. Vista Updates don't work - BITS error Thank you for your post. I tried ALL of the above and more. Ultimately what I did was install BITS 4.0 and it worked.
