With seamless desktop integration enabled can't tell much of a difference between where Windows ends and the linux desktop begins. Go for the latest Virtualbox 3 as this is much better now than in the previous incarnations. Wine is a little bit too erratic for my taste, as others have opined here. It seems to run basic office utilities fine though, and older versions of MS office (don't know about the functioning of anything newer than Office 97).
