Steady State doesn't work for Windows 7 and it seems like Time-Freeze
only works for 32 bit systems,64 bit you have to pay for.No mbr
protection,a few other things in the free vs. paid versions.

Thanks Dave. I did not notice Steady State only exist for
32-bit Windows only, but it seems to be the case
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=d077a52d-93e9-4b02-bd95-9d770ccdb43132-bit
(I only have 32-bit versions of Windows my self, so I am not paying
much attention to this issue as of yet :).

I am trying this program out. Although, so far, it works as advertised,
I don't know what "creates a virtual system" means.

So if I uninstall programs, or delete files, while the computer is
"under protection," and reboot, do they come back?

Yes they will. If you want to keep any changes made while "on", you
must turn it "off" before a reboot.

So if I turn the program on, then run my laptop battery down from 95% to
15%, rebooting puts the battery back to 95%?
