I used the combination of putty + Xming under Windows and has been
worked perfectly. I can't find a solution for the Mac platform though.
I know OSX has the X11 built-in, but I can't get it to work by SSHing
a remote host.

Any ideas?

You need to start SSH with the the -X switch to enable X11 forwarding.

Xming does not actually have anything to do with XM radio.
