Office 2010 won't run on XP Pro 64 bit. Only Vista 64 and Win 7 64 are approved in the 64 bit market. From MS Web site showing specs for Office (this is for Pro Plus but they all require the same: "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 The following table lists the system requirements for Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. Component Requirement Computer and processor 500-megahertz (MHz) processor or higher; 1 gigahertz (GHz) required for Outlook with Business Contact Manager Memory 256 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher; 512 MB recommended for graphics features, Outlook Instant Search, Outlook with Business Contact Manager, Communicator, and certain advanced functionality Hard disk 3.5 gigabyte (GB) available disk space Display 1024 × 768 or higher-resolution monitor Operating system Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 3 (32-bit), Windows Vista with SP1 (32-bit or 64-bit), Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit or 64-bit) with MSXML 6.0 installed, Windows Server 2008 or later (32-bit or 64-bit), Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit). Terminal Server and Windows on Windows (WOW) (which allows installing 32-bit versions of Office 2010 on 64-bit operating systems) are supported" and you don't see XP 64 bit shown there do you?
From: Bob I on 13 Aug 2010 11:29 I guess you are going to need a supported operating system, cause the XP-64 is specifically excluded. See quoted material below. Operating system Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 3 (32-bit operating system (OS) only) or Windows Vista with SP1, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 R2 with MSXML 6.0, Windows Server 2008, or later 32- or 64-bit OS.
