From: mrecomm101 on 29 Nov 2009 12:31 When I try to connect to an XP client from the server using RDP, after I've completed the logon credentials, it freezes up the client machine. It is duplicatable and the freeze is unrecoverable. This connection was working fine up until two weeks ago. I'm not sure if related to any updates or what. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? The Windows Firewall is not on (client) and the IP is automatically obtained. I've made sure there were no programs running on the client that could be using up resources. I loaded up the new RDP client on the server to see if that would make a difference, but it didn't.

I've seen many Dell computers have this issue - it was a video driver problem. -- You can't trust your best friends, your five senses, only the little voice inside you that most civilians don't even hear -- Listen to that. From: "Robbin Meng [MSFT]" on 2 Dec 2009 06:19 Hello, Thanks for your post and Leythos' input. I agree you should first take a look at the video driver and update it with the latest one and simplify the settings in the RDP Options tabs, e.g. low screen resolution, no resource redirections, simple color etc. In addition, does this issue only occur to that specific Windows XP client computer? And RDP connections to all other clients work smoothly? If so, I'd like suggest you perform a simple Clean Boot on that Windows XP client computer. How to perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP <http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;310353> Hope this helps.
