This isn't 20 years ago or even 10, when single instances of these occurred; when cleaning something found ensured "that was all that needed done". These are now generally used in multiples and combined efforts and generally bring more payload, much of which may be undetectable. Perhaps a quick look at "embedded OSs" and how small those can be, yet how effective they are/what they can do, might bring a bit more reality; maybe this will spark some ideas/thoughts on on just what CAN be done... we live in a different world now people, how about we "get current" and sensible. We have estimated and/or known thousands of new "crimeware" and methodologies involved, and hundreds of thousands of people engaged in these *crimeware* creations and distributions.. Consider this against the number of people who write the code for any MS Windows product, or an AV product, or anything else... so how about we "get real" and start addressing this as we should, maybe we can then get a handle on the issues and problems... -- MEB http://peoplescounsel.org/ref/windows-main.htm Windows Info, Diagnostics, Security, Networking http://peoplescounsel.org The "real world" of Law, Justice, and Government ___---

I like that. The term also makes it sound as sinister as it really is. Malware sounds kind of dorky, actually, and doesn't convey the full impact the problem has.

Hi Dave, I guess I missed your post asking if I had a website for my business. I saw your reply on the screen snap you presented. Anyhow, I do have a website and it has gotten only one customer in the year or two it's been up. I wasn't expecting much else. I use the yellow pages and word of mouth for my advertising. I'm in three phone books, which keeps me very busy. |
