I don't do "high power amplifiers" nor am I silly enough to use sil-
pads on even high power processors (where we've made millions of
them). You're out of your mind.

It varies with surface finish differences.

Grit blasted matte finish and 36 grit rough polish emit pretty well
compared to average extrusion finishes.

Remember in 1971 or so when they banned FD&C red dye No. 3?

Joined the Navy in '78 and the dental disclosing solution they gave out
to the recruits at boot was a small bottle of pure FD&C Red Dye No. 3.

There was a time when it was the other way around.

I know a company that makes rugged VME enclosures, and they have there
own metal shop subsidiary. Apparently, every little change needed also
generates an expensive tooling charge. They can avoid such practices if
they own the company making their metal for them.

I wish we owned that metal shop. Their chassis are top notch, and
better than all others I have ever seen.

Whenever I work with a VME enclosure,I always find myself comparing the
quality of the design to the AP Labs standard memories.
