What is a "captcha fail message"? Word-for-word - what is the error/message you are getting and for what specific web page? -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Some sites don't use their own code. They borrow or buy it from elsewhere. The code may actually execute on a different web site for where the input gets validated. If you block that other site, the verification of what you enter will not match the captcha image that was presented. If you are using a 'hosts' file with entries to block ad or "bad" sites, see what happens when you rename the 'hosts' file to something else. Ad-blockers, popup blockers, or other filters might be blocking access to the captcha site. You might be blocking some site behavior by adding sites to the Restricted Sites security zone. Only you know what security you have installed on your host that might be blocking or filtering out access to some sites.

What do the folks at your favorite website have to say about your problem?

I would ask the people at the website. I can't remember which website, but one of them I have to type the captcha like 10 times before I can get in. Luckily it doesn't happen often that I need to do that.
