From: "Joshua Lee" on 29 Jun 2010 09:22 After helping (or at least trying to help) Bob Warner with that last question I realized something. For the longest time MSOffice was the full office suite, and while yes, OpenOffive did have Math, and a few other goodies that MSOffice did not; MSOffice still had Email and Calendar tied into their total Suite. Until recently, until I found that script that I shared, I didn't know there was a way to tie into the MS Exchange calendar and read it into an OpenSource solution. Now that I realize I can get my calendar, documents, and email all off of an Exchange Server and use 100% open source software, I am wondering why doesn't OpenOffice partner with the Sunbird/Thunderbird team and make that little script I found a permanent add on. Then the OpenOffice suite could literally be a 100% replacement solution for your office, not even excluding email or calendar anymore. Just curious. ________________________________ Joshua R. I just found an update to that calendar thing. I know this isn't OpenOffice, but in your message you did mention the calendar in outlook. http://rasterweb.net/raster/2010/06/28/ This might help you, it might not. I hope it does. ________________________________ Joshua R. I would like to get away from using MS Office but I need some way to get all the information stored in the 'outlook.pst' Outlook file from MS Office over to OpenOffice. Is there a way, while in OpenOffice, to import the information in the 'outlook.pst' file into OpenOffice? If not, do you have a suggested email client I should use that would simulate MS Outlook? I would like to get my Contact and Calendar information from the 'outlook.pst' file into OpenOffice as well. Do you know of an 'extractor' that would extract mail, contacts, calendar, etc. from a ..pst file?
