Normally updates can be downloaded as a file for later installation (or for distribution to other machines or for installing over a network), but I don't appear to be able to do the same for [Optional Hardware Updates]. Always get the hardware drivers (when you need them) from the actual manufacturer of said product. (eg. From: LD55ZRA on 26 Mar 2010 17:45 Not a good idea to download hardware drivers from Microsoft Website because they are likely to be generic and "not fit for purpose". You only need updated drivers if any new security breach has been high-lighted otherwise there is no point. All updated drivers should come from the website of your device maker or your computer maker. Not from anywhere else.
