I have a Studio 1555 laptop... never used the eSATA port before. Now I
want to transfer some files from another hard drive. I have an eSATA
cable. There is a port on the side of the case marked "(USB
symbol)/eSATA" but the eSATA cable doesn't come close to fitting this
connector. Do I need a special cable and/or adapter, and if so, which
one? I tried looking on Dell's web site and got frustrated.

thanks

bump?

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I really don't know the answer.

I ended up using a USB to SATA adapter, but obviously that wasn't the
fastest solution so if this comes up again I'd like to know what to do.
The eSATA cable that I have works fine on my desktop, although
obviously I need to use the power adapter part of my USB/SATA adapter or
else an external powered case. I don't mind doing that as I have the parts.
