The 0x80070424 error indicates that one of the servies is missing.
It's a little hard to say what the cause is without more detail, but you
might try manually installing the Windows Update Client and Background
Intellengent Transfer Service from:


http://download.windowsupdate.com/windowsupdate/redist/standalone/7.2.6001.7
88/windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe
and
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=B93356B1-BA43-480F-
983D-EB19368F9047&displaylang=en

If that doesn't work, give us some more detail about your Operating system
and what you have tried so far.

I've been told that if you go back to factory specs like starting from the
first time you started your computer it may be the solution.Or take your
puter back to befor the problem started.
