Not your ordinary mpg though.
I see:
VCD
SVCD
DVD
that are presumeably mpg of some sort. But it sounds to me like the OP
might have a codec issue and could easily be missing the required
codecs for working with the 3 file types above.

Thanks. I'm still on v4.0; I'll check back on v5 when the site has a
bit more bandwidth than it does atm.

posts were posted fter one another. I hadn't tried mediacoder in
post1. you mentioned it. I responded to you that it gave an error.
(And that i'd like to try Super, which was the other one you
suggested.)

this is all with mediacoder. it gave an error, so i'd like to try
Super.

if it interests you i'd be happy to try it again and tell you what
error, and let you troubleshoot me like i'm an end user. But right now
I want to try Super. That was the problem that I mentioned. I don't
mind if you at least address the problem first.

The problem is as stated.

I'm willing to help document some error in mediacoder, if need be.
Even messing around trying to solve it. But i'd rather get a bit
further with this problem first, and my decision, is to try Super. I
just can't find a direct link.

That is the problem.

Regarding talking of a file. I described exactly what I wanted. You
don't need to add anything. I mentioned downloading a vid clip from
youtube and splitting it.
And if, in theory, the file was 700MB (I know, youtube doesn't allow
that size. Google video does). If it was that size, i'd like to be
able to split it.
So i'm not looking for some trial software or website that has a 20MB
limit.

Now.
Thank you for addressing the problem of post1 in your response to
post1. But here is a post asking for a direct link to Super.. That's
the problem. You're trying to solve this a different way.

Either help, or don't help

I don't want your superstition. It's no use to me, or anybody else.
