From: jameshanley39 on 19 Jun 2007 19:08 i hope this post doesn't appear twice. google screwed me over when I clicked post. here is a short clip (chosen as an example because it's short) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPTP3rXKHvc i'd like to be able to download it and split it into parts. I'd like to open it in windows movie maker i've managed to download it with www.keepvid.com, apparently that's .flv format I'm looking for freeware that'd convert it to mpg or wmv. Or, some format that windows movie maker can deal with. I tried http://www.media-convert.com/ but a)it didn't get the video , only the audio (though maybe i didn't set it well) b)it has a 150MB limit I want this to work for larger files. e.g. 700MB is there any freeware that'll do this?

Got some other error. i have used "Super" before. But i don't have the EXE on this machine. It's a nasty website. I can't find the link to install it. If anybody is familiar with the site enough to know where the installation file is, could they post a link to it. thanks!

First I would be asking what is going wrong at the moment. I don't know what formats movie maker can deal with. Converting to wmv is rarely a good idea and hmmmm has suggested an option if you choose to do so. You say: "i'd like to be able to download it and split it into parts. I'd like to open it in windows movie maker" You're talking about a file of about 700MB - what are you wanting to do with it precisely? You are going to need to provide more info to get a decent informed answer to your req. |
